Yes, of course I knew that. My biggest complaint is that not enough money
is being spent to keep elderly blind people living independently. For
example, here in Southern California it costs about $3,000 a month to keep
someone in a supportive living program or nursing home. The home teaching
program has gone to hell because of short sightedness. Additionally, I'm
sure you know that it costs about $90,000 to keep someone in prison for a
year. A visit from a skilled home teacher with a reasonable budget to spend
could save the government millions in the long run by giving the especially
newly blinded persons encouragement, support, and yes, some technology. .
I'm just getting old and crabby.
