Hi all,

Still searching for a replacement to my aging hf gear.

Just continuing from my previous messages of a few weeks ago, at that
time I was interested in the tentek orian.

As it looks like that is not going to be accessible, have started
looking again.

Just reading on the net and I see that the ic7800 has the option of
being upgraded by installing new software. As I believe the current
unit has the ability to speak the operating frequency, it strikes me
that with a bit of software writing, it may be possible to increase
the accessibility.

Just wondering if anyone has any ideas about the feasibility of this
and whether the source code can be obtained.

I am no expert in this field so may be off track but I would really
like an accessible top end radio and from the reviews, the receiver
looks quite impressive.

Anythoughts?

Keith
