FYI, just for those who are interested ...

This regards the Telephone Museum. The book "exploding the phone" is available
on NLS, Bookshare, and other places.

By the way, several hams were involved with the phone freaking days in
"Exploding the Phone," including a few blind hams, as well as ones like Steve
Wozniak.

Subject: [xplo-announce] The Telephone Museum needs your help

Hey there. You’re receiving this email because sometime in the last few years
we've talked or emailed about my book, Exploding The Phone, or you signed up for
this mailing list.

Please forgive this fundraising pitch; I wouldn’t bother you with it if I didn’t
think it was important.

I don’t know if you’ve ever had a chance to visit The Telephone Museum in
Ellsworth, Maine. But if you haven’t, you should. What is truly amazing about
the Museum — and what I didn’t understand until I visited it — is all the
wonderful, working switching equipment that they have. It is less of a
“telephone museum” and more of a “telephone switching museum.” For pete’s sake,
they have actual working Strowger and #5 Crossbar switches that you can play
with! How cool is that? To me, it’s incredible.

But they need your help to preserve this legacy. The wood siding on their main
building is failing and needs to be replaced. They’ve raised about $35,000 to
date but need to get to $50,000 by April.

You would help them immensely if you would go here and donate:

These are good people who are working hard to preserve history, and your support
is important.

Thanks for listening and, hopefully, donating.

Phil

P.S., They’re a 501(c)(3) so your donations are tax deductible.
