Hi John,

Does your dsl modem have a dmz mode which allows bypassing the firewall? I
would think that the modem would have to have something like this builtin
cause gamers would demand it. Online games use alot of unusual ports.

Hi Butch . The interesting thing is, that I can use ventrilo with no
problem and I can voice chat with people on MSN, as long as they initiate
the audio conversation. If I try to do it, it won't work. I also have
no problems sending and recieving files with most of my contacts that I
have have tried it with. To bad echolink didn't have an option to
configure it to use existing ports, what ever they are, instead of
forcing you to open spacific ports. Oh well, if MSN or Qwest doesn't
come out with a better modem, or at least let people know what modems one
can get that will do the job, I will probably change to extremezone after
this year is up. The only problem with them is, you have to either buy
there modem for $179, I think, or rent it for $4.95 a month. That puts
my internet cost at about $45 a month, instead of the $26 I am paying now
and the up and down speed is the same, 256. It is still better than dial
up! HI HI!
