I have to agree that the TS-590 would be the best all around new rig to buy especially if your looking for accessibility.
I run a vintage Yaesu FT-102, which I tune using my TW-1 but right now there's a gentleman in FLA who's willing to repair and restore these rigs to their glory. That said, he won't be around forever and I believe he's in his early 60s now, so I to am probably gonna really consider a new rig in the next couple of years. Looking at the rigs in the class, the TS-590 pretty much gives ya what ever ya want where as Yaesu, you have to buy the USB ingerface and FFT1 board to get digital decode on screen which isn't accessible and no speech unless you hook up a 3RD party program.
As for the IC-7410, you gotta buy filters and limited speech, just no 3RD partty program to do it but they might as well have. This is coming from a Yaesu guy.LOL
