with the paper money, this was true.  the braille gets squashed and is 
difficult to find...although it's always still there if you lay the bill on 
a flat surface and feel on the corners...once you locate the braille cell, 
it's easy to find the others on bills larger than 5.
With the plastic money, the material is much stiffer and more reziliant so 
the braille cell stays raised far better than the paper version.
But, even the paper version, you would think the braille would become 
impossible to feel after a while, but remember, canadian paper money is 
thicker and stiffer than american bills, so the braille does stay, squashed 
yes, but it's still tactile enough to feel even after a bill has been 
incirculation for a long time.
I have yet to find a paper bill that I can't feel the braille on by 
searching for it.
