Not sure about the 718, but I know you can_ use the qsyer to program 
memories on the 706 original and 706mkii as outlined in the manual and helps 
recorded by handihams.  .  If you don't have it, I'd suggest you get the 
recorded manual and extra helps from handihams/not sure if all the same 
stuff is available on the icanworkthisthing.com site.  If you're a handiham 
member, check it out.  I think I've got the 718 manual on tape around here 
somewhere, as I had the 718 for a while, and really liked it. dd...
