Hello listers,
I thinkI'm going to get the Logikey K5 electronic keyer for my HF rigs.

These are a Kenwood TS480SAT and an Icom IC703 Plus.

I haven't decided on a set of paddles yet.

I do have one question, however.

If I use an external electronic keyer with either of these two rigs do I somehow have to disable the internal keyer in the radios?

Also what jack do I hook one of these external electronic keyers to?

The Kenwood has jacks for straight key and another for paddles.

I haven't checked out the keyer inputs on the Icom rig yet.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

73,

Eric
