Hi John,
Yep. My continuing research pretty much tells me that the 817 is probably
out as any sort of usable rig. Need at least a few knobs to turn, buttons
to push and switches to throw. Oh, well... Too bad... If I wanted always
to use my laptop, then I could probably use the rig under computer control,
but, nah... Don't think so.
I'm researching other portable QRP rigs: Icom 703, Elecraft K2, SGC-2020
and Ten Tec Argonaught V. Anyone have any ideas about any of these?
