Not backward from everyone else, just the ham radios. Look at most Kenwood,
Motorola and other commercial gear, it's the same way. I don't know why ham
radio had it a different way, it's ridiculous. The yaesu FT-10 and possibly
a couple other HT's were that way as well, yes the FT-50 was the usual ham
radio way, but FT-10 was the other way. Typical yaesu stupidity, but anyway,
it's very confusing and I prefer the commercial radio way personally, that
way if you break the connector as sma's do break, you can replace the
antenna as long as you can get the peace out, as apposed to having to solder
the connector back to the board.
