Hello again Steve, Your suggestion worked just fine.  48 had been set to 67,
whatever that is, Hi.  It is speaking the freq just fine now.

Try setting menu 48 to number 61.    Since the 480 only has 1 pf key, 
many of us will set the pf key to some other function and get frequency 
readout by pressing the enter key twice  quickly.
