I'm using a Kenwood tmg707A.  I'm not sure what you mean by a mobile rig
though?  Are you talking about vhf, or hf?  If it's vhf/uhf, then I'm pretty
well satisfied with the 707A.  As long as you purchase the optional voice
chip with it, it's pretty accessible.
Occasionally I seek sighted help to et up some of the menu options, but I
can set frequencies and pl tones, and can tell at any point why my freq and
pl tone settings are.
