For the record, we have a local radio show that does a monthly report on all
forms of DXing. Their guest expert has really ripped this radio, saying
that it's way overpriced and that for the money, he doesn't consider it all
that great. He recommends the GE Super Radio III as being both a vastly
better buy and under most conditions, actually a better AM DX radio. The
guy knows his stuff ... he's a former broadcast engineer, holds a degree in
electrical engineering, is a ham, and has been an active AM DXer for over
forty years. He recommends other Crane products, so I don't think he has
any kind of axe to grind against Crane.
