Actually, I don't think Howard misses the point at  all, John.  Ham radio is 
a combination of radio, technology and comunication.  At least Echo Link is 
2 out of 3 of those.  If you insist on having the radio part involved, 
that's fine.  I think most of us on this list would prefer things that way 
but we also understand that not everyone can.  We well know your feelings on 
Echo Link.  You've stated them quite clearly on a number of occasions and of 
course you're absolutely entitled to that oppinion.  But at this point, I 
think we just need to agree to disagree.  Folks aren't going to stop using 
echo link just because you disaproove so let those who enjoy it use it as 
they choose.  I'll be happy to work you on HF and, if I ever get on Echo 
Link as I'd like to some day, I won't expect to find you there.  Peace,  lou
