Hi Chris,

I'll admit; that was a consideration--and made the Icom a strong
contender. However, after reading some reviews, it sounded as though
the Kenwood is slightly better built. Also sounds like, while the Icom
has a better receiver and the morse readout, the Kenwood has the
bigger battery and seems (from the manual) to be easier, ergonomically
speaking, to operate.
