Good morning. This is an excellent idea. I have scripting knowledge and it
would be great if we could work together on this at some point. Let's do
something: lets figure out all the pieces and see if we can put them
together to come up with a quick tool that would do this lookuyp.

I know it is just out of sloth and laziness, since all the items in = there
can be found on the web, but it is convenient if I want to look up = the
weather, a business name, something on Amazon, a tracking number.
Maybe we should suggest to Jaws or someone with a bit of programming =
knowledge can look at their research-it feature and write up a new = lookup
for ham calls. It just takes two small files.

For me, the most useful feature of Jaws 16 is the convenient OCR feature =
for help with scanned image PDF files.
There are always errors in the scanning, but the feature at least gives = me
a general idea of the content of the file.
I have not done this yet, but there apparently is a way that you can = take
the scanned text and save it into a text or MS Word file for future
reference if needed.
Again, the OCR feature does not provide perfect results, but it has been
helpful to me on at least several ocasions.
Of course, I am fortunate, in that the University where I teach keeps my
Jaws license and SMA updated, but that will end when I retire, probably
within the next year or so.

For years, I've been stuck at Jaws 11, not wanting to pay what FS wanted =
to upgrade to Jaws 16. On the plus side, it motivated me to become familiar
with NVDA, which turned out to be a fairly pleasant experience. It's =
