Two questions:

1.  Does the MFJ 989 accept up to 1500 watts?  Not that I'd ever use that 
much power, but am just curious.  and

2.  The TW1 can handle up to 1500 watts too, right?

As a matter of fact, the MFJ 989 is the tuner I currently run. I can't
complain about it, I run the SB-200 through it, can tune it reasonably fast,
the antenna switch, including bypass, is on the front, some they're on the
back but this one is on the front, I have no problems with it. Just
listening to the hiss in the radio I can dial it in to about a 2.0, and use
the tw1 to bring it down from there, actually, once you learn how many times
you turn the roller inductor knob when you change bands, you probably won't
even need to do that after a while you'll be able to just dial it in. There
are better tuners out there, but this one does just fine by me.
