Don't know what they go for used.   Normal price new is $600, but I see 
HRO has a $30 discount for a price of $570.

Don't know if your friend is throwing in  an interface cable you could 
use.   Otherwise, that's another $20.  Of course, even if bought new, 
the cable is additional cost.
