Hi Rich,

For packet I find that good old HyperTerminal works about as well as
anything else I can find. I also use a program called Tera Term which works
pretty well but not as reliably as HyperTerminal. I have worked many an
RTTY QSO with my Kam and HyperTerminal and even chased DX that way a few
times. On RTTY, you have to be willing to listen to a lot of garbage
characters before you get the real stuff but it is doable. I also tried a
program called digitalk for PSK31 and actually got copy but didn't have a
second sound card at the time to try transmitting. As I understand it, if
you are using speech and Digitalk on the same sound card, your speech from
your screen reader will be transmitted over the air in the CW portion of the
bands and that's a "no no". <GRIN> I now have a sound blaster live and am
using the on board sound of my computer for JFW so think I may try PSK
again.

And, on the JAWS frames in your other post, I had to do exactly what you
said and resort to the help file even though I took the customizing JAWS
class years ago. I never did get most of that I'm sorry to say.

At any rate, I hope some of this rambling helps and good luck in your
experiments. Very 73.

Kevin :)
