why is it a 3 conducter jack?
I can't see kenwood putting in a stereo output amplifier in an HF radio.
Not only that, it would render nearly all commonly availible external
speaker jacks useless since the ground portion of a 2 conducter mono jack
would short out the middle ring of the stereo or 3 conducter jack.
I know the CW paddle jack is 3 conducter.
But again, why is it 3 conducter, what is the middle ring for?

Does the 480 have two output speaker jacks like the 2000 or the tm v7a? or
is it cheating and using one jack and a stereo plug to attain the same
results as two separate jacks
