Wow that is pretty neat.  Guess I'll have to go over to her house to try it.
By the way, Betsey has been working with the Elecraft engineer along with
Gary for accessibility of the k-3.  am sure good things will come out of it.

As John said, 17 is a super band.  I've had 17 meters open in the middle of
the night to Europe.  For over a week, I worked Europeans all over the band
from 10 PM local till 2 o'clock in the morning so I make it a habit to check
17 meters even very late at night if I am up.  Don't forget the CW beacons
on 18.110 which will help give an indication, every three minutes, if the
band is open.
