Subject: FW: SW Airlines ADA Website Accessibility Case Dismissed

 NOTABLE CASES
02-CV-21734-SEITZ - - Access Now, Inc. & Robert Gumson v. Southwest Airlines, Co.
Order granting defendant's motion to dismiss* (10/18/2002)
<<Access Now vs. SW Airlines (October 2002).pdf>>
COURT DISMISSES ADA WEBSITE ACCESSIBILITY CASE
A federal court in Florida has dismissed a lawsuit which
sought to require Southwest Airlines to amend its website to
ensure that it was compliant with the Americans with
Disabilities Act.  The court ruled that southwest.com is not
a "place of public accommodation" since that definition
requires a physical place and thus does not fall within the
statute.  Case is Access Now v. Southwest Airlines.
