Take courses over the Internet in the Fall 1998, at an Accredited Library
School:

The School of Information and Library Studies at the University at Buffalo
will formally offer two graduate level courses by Internet Distance
Learning during the Fall Semester of 1998. Students will be able take the
courses, LIS 581 Management of Libraries and Information Agencies, and LIS
531 Marketing of Information Services, in the privacy of their homes,
office, local library or any location with a computer connected to the
Internet. Specific times and days are not as rigidly adhered to in
Distance Learning courses so students can work these courses around their
busy work, home and personal schedules. Usually the courses are scheduled
for two days a week for the purpose of exchanging and sharing information
on the class WebBulletinBoard (WBB). Geographic location will not be a
factor for students either since the Internet is worldwide. Therefore,
students from any point on the globe may be taking this course.

The following are eligible:
1. Current MLS students.
2. Practitioners with MLS degrees.
3. Others who do not have a MLS, but have a bachelor's degree may apply
   for Special Student Status.
