SCIENCE, ENGINEERING AND MATH ACCOMMODATIONS THE EASI WAY - ANYTIME AND
ANYWHERE

EASI: Equal Access to Software and Information Sept 28 online workshop.

Did you know that the greatest barrier to students succeeding in science
and math is negative social attitudes and that this even includes
negative attitudes by the very people who are in the position to help
students succeed?  Do you know that students with disabilities really
can succeed in these difficult fields?  Do you routinely help steer
interested students in other directions?  Are you part of the problem or
part of the solution?

EASI-SEM is an online workshop designed for you.  It will introduce you
to successful disabled professionals in these fields.  It will introduce
you to the newest technologies to assist students to succeed.  All this
is done online, and, if you can use continuing education units, you can
earn three CEUs from the Rochester Institute of Technology.  The
workshop is continually under development, and it is now beginning to
include web multimedia materials.

This four-week online course focuses on three main issues that have
historically made it difficult for individuals with disabilities to
study or work in the technical fields.  Learn about:

 *Attitudinal Barriers by Faculty and Employers
 *Laboratory Access Barriers, Inaccessible Workstations and Instruments
 *Difficulties Using Scientific and Mathematical Notation and Graphics.

 *Triangle
 *Computerized Assessment
 *Laboratory Accommodations
