I would agree with Julia. Just because someone has a disability, does not
mean that they are not expected to follow the rules and policies set by the
library. You are making reasonable accommodations. If you need to address
specific situations in a more in depth manner, you can see what
accommodations a particular patron might need that could make their library
experience more enjoyable.

I question why you would waive fines, not charge for lost items?  I can
understand extended checkout periods based on transportation issues, but I
wouldn't expect that people with disabilities should be exempted from
responsibility for returning things or paying fines.

We have a special program for people who cannot come to the library and
there fines are handled differently since staff are responsible for
visiting/delivery and pickup of items.
