National Science Foundation Report Live Webcast
Monday morning October 19, 1998 from 8: 30 till noon

NSF has a special grant program for people with disabilities which has its
annual meeting October 19-21. EASI will webcast parts of this information
packed event which reports on several exciting projects designed to increase
involvement of students with disabilities in science and math.

Dr. Lawrence Scadden is the program director for these grants and has headed
this area of NSF grants for more than half a dozen years. The DO-IT program
from the University of Washington headed by Dr. Bergstahler has won national
recognition for its work.

Monday morning will be devoted to very brief summaries of the several
programs working in this field. It will give an overview to innovative
programs and research. The Wednesday morning meeting will also be webcast
between 8:30 and noon on Wednesday.

Both webcasts will be available between 8: 30 and noon at
http://www.rit.edu which is EASI's web page. EASI's workshops provide one
way to learn how to integrate some of these new technologies into your
school or college. See the workshop announcement on the EASI home page.
Workshops are beginning soon:
web workshop Oct. 26
General adaptive tech workshop Nov. 2
Science and math workshop Nov. 9.

To listen to the audio from NSF, you will need to download Real Player for
your browser. You can get it from EASI's page under the webcast link.
