To address improving IT accessibility, the University of Illinois at 
Urbana/Champaign (UIUC) is offering a free webcast for the Functional 
Accessibility Evaluator (FAE).

FAE is a reporting tool that was created to help administrators 
monitor the accessibility of their web sites and provide developers 
with relevant principles and techniques that can help them incorporate 
accessibility in their designs as they develop their sites.

FAE produces reports by analyzing web resources for markup that is 
consistent with the use of HTML best practices developed by CITA at 
UIUC.
Reports include both page-level statistics and evaluations as well as 
site-level data aggregated across a collection of web resources.

FAE organizes the analysis of documents based on the following
categories:

Navigation & Orientation: Inclusion of structural markup that 
facilitates navigation and contextual orientation;

Text Equivalents: Proper use of images for interoperability and the 
provision of text descriptions for non-text content;

Scripting: Avoidance of scripting techniques that compromise 
accessibility and interoperability;

Styling: Use of CSS styling techniques to separate content and 
structural information from styling and presentation;

Standards: Support for standards to improve interoperability and 
provide more choices in the use of technologies for rendering web 
content.
