Kathie has had tremendous response to her "fresh approach" of helping
families create independent lives for children with disabilities. While the
book is for parents and others who care about children with disabilities,
she's also created a newsletter, video, posters and other items that promote
an entirely new way of thinking about children and adults with disabilities.
Kathie requests that each person receiving this message please tell two
other people about the website, and try to get it mentioned in one
newsletter or message board that you subscribe to.

The biggest barriers faced by people with disabilities are attitudes and
perceptions. Change is sometimes difficult, but the concept of using People
First Language can be a very powerful start. Go to
www.disabilityisnatural.com/peoplefirstlanguage.htm to download a fantastic
article about People First Language.
