This issue continues the focus on strategies and tools to help
students with disabilities in K-12 succeed in math and science. All
the articles in this issue were originally presented at the California
State University Northridge conference in March 1998. For several
years EASI has presented a track of related topics at CSUN. This year,
for the first time, these presentations were Webcast live over the
internet. These are available on EASI's web page:
http://www.rit.edu/~easi/audio/csun98.html and you will need to
download Real Player to access this streaming audio. Each article in
the contents will note whether it is available in audio on the web.
This edition of the journal is partially supported by EASI's National
Science Foundation grant to compile and disseminate information about
K-12 science, math, engineering and technology access. For more
information about EASI's NSF materials, see: http://www.rit.edu/~easi.

general adaptive computing (ADAPT-IT), universal web design (EASI-WEB)
and access to science and Math (EASI-SEM).
"Adaptive computing is the most liberating technology in recent
times."
"My productibity has increased significantly" "On the internet, you'll
have to run fast to catch me!" "Mainstreaming students with
disabilities is a reality."
Online workshop on adapting computer and information systems:
ADAPT-IT begins September 14
Online workshop on providing access to science and math: EASI-SEM
begins September28
