EASI is dedicated to helping librarians meet the challenge of serving
consumers with disabilities both with the webcasts listed below and by
integrating special modules for librarians into our online courses.

EASI Webcasts for August are replays, the best of our webcasts on libraries
and accessibility.  These will be available for a week starting with the
date listed below and will be at http://easi.cc and select the link for
webcasts.

Posted August 2-9 Interview with Audrey Gorman of the ALA Roads to Learning
program.

Posted August 9-16 Interview with Barbara Mates about her new book on
disabilities and accessibility available online from ALA.

Posted August 16-23 Interview with Tom McNulty of NYU library on his recent
book on accessibility published by ALA.

Posted August 23-30 Interview with John Berry the new president of ALA
about the new ALA commitment to accessibility for consumers with disabilities.

Posted August 30-September 30 Interview with Thomas Dowling of OhioLink
about its effort to make its database interface accessible for the Ohio
academic libraries.

Announcing EASI's new Certificate in Accessible Information Technology.
EASI has partnered with the University of Southern Maine to offer
continuing education units for individual courses or a certificate for
students taking five courses.

The Beginner Barrier-free Web Design course and the Barrier-free
Information Technology course both have new materials this fall designed to
equip librarians meet the new challenge resulting from the recent ALA
policy on making libraries accessible to consumers with disabilities.  The
certificate program and newly updated courses begin in september:
