We have a program called Extended Services at Oakland Public Library,
whereby patrons with disabilities get double (6 weeks) checkout, amongst
other expanded parameters. I just checked all 550 patron records, and some
people owe fines for lost items, and a few have even been sent to a
collection agency. I waived all overdue fines but am not sure what to do
categorically about lost items. Does anyone have any advice or library
policy on these issues? Thanks in advance!
