Barbara Mates recently published a book on how librarians can provide
access to libraries for consumers with disabilities.  Patrick Hogan, ALA's
webmaster, joins the discussion.  Every librarian and every library user
will want to listen to this webcast.  Mates book is available for purchase
from ALA and is also available for online reading.  URLs will be on the
page with the webcast.


EASI is planning two online workshops for librarians to guide them through
the steps of making their on-site and web information technologies
accessible to this new population of patrons.  They will be presented
regularly starting in the fall of 2001.  Watch for announcements.
