OHIONET Proudly Presents:

Accessible Libraries: Strategies that Address ADA Concerns

"Accessible Libraries" is a comprehensive, full-day program designed to
cover a broad range of issues involved in making our libraries at least
minimally ADA-compliant, but even more desirably, truly accessible and
welcoming to all of our patrons. This program includes sessions
dealing with architectural and building construction issues, funding
sources, ADA and legal considerations, current adaptive technologies, web
design, and much more. Speakers from different types of libraries will
address accessibility in their settings, and the program will also include a
student library user's perspective. With approximately 20% of our service
populations having special accessibility needs of various kinds, we must do
all we can to meet and even surpass statutory accessibility requirements.
This special OHIONET program is designed to meet that need.
