Dear Everyone:

Re the question on signage for accessible workstations:

As someone with a mobility DIFFERENCE from birth,

may I suggest that we discontinue the use of the negative "impairment"
language which has a strong negative connotation in our society of being drunk.

Instead, positively phrased, we can say:

People/Users with vision [mobility, cognitive, learning, hearing, etc.]
differences.

-----------------------------------------------------

Assistive Technology is not just for people with a variety of differences.

Assistive Technology, from elevators to "Post-It-brand" notes, is for and about
and enjoyed by EVERYONE!

For instance, if you have $55,000 to spare, you now can buy an Infiniti
automobile with voice recognition assistive technology.

------------------------------

As for signage, may I suggest:

This public access workstation is fitted with certain assistive technology.
Patrons who need this technology to access our library's computer resources
have preference in use of this workstation. Thank you very much for your
cooperation.
