That might present another problem!! On a divided highway out of Mombasa (2
miles causeway and the only way in and out of the island) everybody was
driving the same direction on both sides. The traffic police were there but
they were all on the island talking to each other and nobody on the mainland
side. They seamed not to care that no vehicle was getting out and none
coming in.

Whatever happened to the transcontinental highway?
They could have driven from Accra to ABJ in rental cars with more certainty
and more peace of mind in 24 hours if not for senseless wars.

What a harrowing tale. The pushing the plane
part;funny! But you are right,up until I left Banjul,I
knew of no tow truck there. In Banjul,if you have a
breakdown, you just got to call a mob to help you
out. Then you in big trouble;the back lights may
crack,the back-fender may travel a couple degrees
south, craters may appear all over your vehicle and
still some guys may shake you down for payment. And if
you are smart there is nothing to complain about,
infact after it is all done you gotta say BIG THANKYOU
or you are going to make an excited mob really mad.
You don,t wanna do that. But back to Ghana Airways, that
airline had been in trouble for as long as I can
remember. They may need to scrap it and start all over
again with a new something.Whatever changes they have
made over the years is simply putting old wine in new
bottles.But what an experience you
had.....................Thankyou Joe for thecontact
info.........Mathew.
