The Urban League of Greater Madison (ULGM), in conjunction with the
University of Wisconsin System, is working on a new initiative program

This initiative, based on a grant f rom the Department of Health and
Family Services/ND/DHHS OHDS, will allow the ULGM to work to support
entrepreneurship training and technical assistance for minority business
development. The Urban League of Greater Madison will work to identify
and recruit African Americans with disabilities who wish to start a
business and/or who already have a business they wish to expand.
Additionally, the initiative will support individuals of color who have
a business and wish to serve and/or employ African Americans with
disabilities.

To assist these entrepreneurs a 3-day conference is planned for March
19-21. The purpose of this conference is to provide training and
technical assistance for minority business development. Limited
financial assistance will be available for conference participants.

If you know of individuals that may be eligible to participate in this
initiative, or if you would like more information about the program,
please contact me at the Urban League of Greater Madison. My telephone
number is (608)251-8550, fax number (608)251-0844.

Sincerely,

Ariel Hicklin Ford
Disabilities Conference Coordinator
