Dear Members of the African Association:

The following members of the Programs and Activities subcommittee of the
Festival Planning and Implementation Committee (FPIC) of the African
Association of Madison, Inc -- Adelaide Fiske, Mabel Emwemnwa, Dzigbodi
Akyea, Zainabu Kooistra, Abdalla Mohamed, K. Chijindu Eke and Abu-Hassan
Koroma -- would like your help. We need your input! Your contribution
of what kind of programs you want to see at Afest 99 is absolutely
important this year. If there are any programs from last year that you
would like us to repeat, please indicate so in your communication.

We are inviting you to come up with ideas and suggestions. We need to
hear from you as soon as possible. If you know of any local talents that
might be willing to participate in the Festival, please do not hesitate
to call any member of the above mentioned committee.

Regional representation is very important to the presentation of Africa.
Last year, with Afest inaugural success, West Africa was a major
showcase. We want to expand and we can only do that with your help.
Help us identify sources, within and outside, to help us fulfill this
demand. The more diverse the festival, the better for all of us.

The committee would also like to appeal directly to the African Students
for their input either collectively or individually. Either way, the
students contribution to the gathering, planning and presenting programs
and activities at the festival will be immensely desirable. Please do
not wait for a second e-mail follow-up. Just get up and do it. We need
your help. We need you. Which ever you can offer, we'll gladly accept.

I thank you very much for always willing to be a part of this ongoing
process and desire to carving a niche for the Africans in Madison. If we
can't do it, no one will do it for us. So, come on board and lets get
going.

My humble regards

For and behalf of the FPIC Programs & Activities Subcommittee

Abu-Hassan

P.S. Please send suggestions, names of artists and other information
that would enable us contact them as soon as possible. We can also
appreciate volunteers to help in follow up with groups and individuals.
AHK.
