Dear AAM list subscribers,

A quick response to Vera Crowell's recent email about being censored.
A couple of Vera's emails bounced back to our system for technical
reasons. The messages were NOT censored. Mail sent to the list is not
read by moderators before being posted, which is why we rely on
reminders AFTER conversations get too heated or too personal. In such
cases, we have guidelines we follow and warnings are issued before a
user is removed from the list

That said, it's probably a good time to send out a reminder of the
current general guidelines, so they appear at the end of this message.

If you have any trouble with your account or stop getting email
suddenly, please let one of the postmasters (or to be less
gender-specific, e-mail managers) know. Their emails are listed
below. Sometimes the system that very generously runs our list has
problems with emails and has to unsubscribe people without even the
postmasters knowing, so if you have any questions at all, please ask
and we'll check what happened for you.

Happy list-posting!
Anita

=======================

Dear AAM Discussion List Users,

This is a periodic reminder to all discussants on the AAM discussion
list of the basic rules of conduct that govern the list. These were
written in the early days of the list and continue to govern its use.
Please read the rules carefully. Anyone who violates these rules will
be given one reminder, followed by removal from the list if that
reminder is not heeded. No worries...the rules are simple and help us
keep the list a welcoming place for worthwhile, enlightening
discussions.

The rules...

or anyone else. Only the Post Masters can sign you on.

area. To re-activate your subscription send a message to one of the

RULES

The only rules that members should follow are those of simple
etiquette and otherwise.

1. Messages posted to the AAM DISCUSSION NETWORK can be shared
with any member of the AAM List, and indeed, the whole world, on or
off the Internet.

2. Private messages, whether from members or non-members, should
only be posted to AAM List with the author's permission.

3. Personal attacks on individual members should be kept
personal; send a private message to that individual and deal with it
off the AAM List.

4. Do not post personal messages (specifically for one
particular individual) to the network. You may use the AAM List for
the purpose of initiating private contact.

5. AAM DISCUSSION NETWORK is for free debate; do not try to
force your opinions on others.

6. Anybody who does not adhere to these guidelines will get ONE
"unfriendly" reminder from the POST MASTERS. Subsequent violation
will result in the removal of the offender from the list.

7. If your mailbox gets full or your mail starts to bounce due
to network problems, you are automatically removed from the network
since there is no way to inform you of the situation. You will be
reinstated if you send mail to the postmaster after you rectify your
problem.

8. Postings containing only one-liners such as "Well said", "I
couldn't agree with you more", etc. are NOT allowed on AAM List.

9. You can cut and paste a maximum of 1 (One) paragraph of
previously posted text on AAM List UNLESS you are doing an itemized
reply, in which case you are allowed to cut and paste only the
relevant sentences.

10. If you want your friends to be subscribed, please have THEM
send mail to one of the POST MASTERS. They will then be given
instructions on how to proceed.

11. Subscription activation and deactivation messages are NOT
allowed on AAM DISCUSSION NETWORK. In other words, if you want to
subscribe or unsubscribe yourself or some one else from the AAM List,
DO NOT send the message to [log in to unmask], the network's
address. When in doubt on anything, contact anyone of the friendly
Post Masters.

12. Commercial solicitations should be pre-approved by the POST
MASTERS before being posted on the AAM DISCUSSION NETWORK.
