The University of Wisconsin-Madison, General Library System is seeking
applications for the position of Associate Information Processing
Consultant, a full-time academic staff position.  Salary range $28,545
minimum.  Benefits include 22 vacation days, sick leave, group health and
life insurance and state retirement plan.

REQUIREMENTS:  BA/BS degree.  Demonstrated knowledge of automated tools and
resources for interlibrary loan; demonstrated knowledge or experience with
relational database design and implementation; good oral and written skills
and ability to travel frequently in Wisconsin is required.  Preferred
knowledge of OCLC ILL system and related software is highly desirable.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:  The employee is responsible for providing technical
support for WILS member libraries in the use of software to facilitate
efficient interlibrary loan workflow, including “WILSWorks”, a WILS-created
program for managing interlibrary loan requests and linking unrelated ILL
systems like OCLC and QUILL.  The Consultant is responsible for maintenance
and further development of the software.  The employee is also responsible
for providing technical support and training as well as coordinating
overall automation planning for the WILS Interlibrary Loan Staff.  The
Consultant provides demonstrations and instruction at statewide workshops
and conferences as needed.

WILS is a statewide service that provides interlibrary loan, OCLC training
and support, cooperative purchasing, and new technologies information and
consulting to over 500 libraries in Wisconsin.
