This idea of hosting AFFEST outdoors had come up previously
during one of the committee meetings.  When I asked, I was
told that the festival initially began outdoors but was
later moved indoors into the Monona Terrace for reasons
that I've forgotten.  Hosting the festival outdoors is a
great idea (I too believe that it is about time to take it
outdoors), but it needs to be carefully considered so that
we are not hampered by the same problems that were
initially encountered.  This year, of course, is not the
year to make such drastic changes, considering the amount
of planning and effort that are required; however, next
year's planning should take the suggestion into
consideration.

Could the African Association Executive and the Planning
Committee kindly consider this wonderful idea of moving the
African Festival to a Park in the Madison area rather than
holding it Monona terrace? This idea as suggested, I think
merits consideration from the decision makers.
