Yikes, but this is back in dusty memory storage...!!!  Certainly it is true
that you will not pass your genes along if you die before you reproduce.
But genetics is a strange business.  I barely understand Mendel's work, let
alone what is being done these days, but I do know that with all of the
dominant/recessive permutations, traits can skip generations.  So the
healthy child may not sire healthy children.

The other, crucial thing is that we've been eating grains for about 10,000
years.  Assume that people breed by age 20.  That is 500 generations.  With
the complexity of the human genome and the way traits skip around, I don't
think 500 generations is enough to cause MAJOR changes in our physical makeup.
