Kyle Said, "Denise, pardon my probing, but what kind of "pain-killers" were
you
taking?" Lorocet/Lorcet (sp?) 10/650. My script was up to 4 X's daily as
needed, but like I said before, I could only take 1/2 at a time, usually no
more than 1 whole pill a day. FL's DEA rulings are just as sticky as Ohio,
I'd guess. I figure the reason I've been getting the drugs for so long
without question was because I'd refill infrequently. A one month supply,
120 pills, would last me upwards of 4 months or more.

You right about them taking the "edge" off. I would usually take 1/2 pill
prior to any extra exertion. About 20 minutes before food shopping, or
working in the yard. I jokingly referred to them as my "Super Underdog
Energy Pills." When I took them, I would work right through without even
realizing how much pain I was in, of course, that is, until they wore off :D
- The really odd thing is, yesterday I went food shopping without first
taking a pill, BUT I've been on the added dose of Ativan. I was ready to
hobble out to the car and have the tears squeeze out of my eyes as I tried to
bend and get in the passenger seat, BUT I was fine! I could not believe it.
For the first time in I can't remember when, I didn't feel like the Tin Man
left out in the rain.

In fact, I still had enough gumption left afterwards to put all the grocerys
away, and I even dug three shrubs out of the yard! Oh, of course today I
can't turn my head in either direction, but I'm refraining from taking a
Lorcet. I'll rely on good old aspirn and the ice pack or heating pad. If I
hadn't over-done it yesterday, I think I'd be fine today. My problem is I
need to learn moderation. I just can't help myself. I'm a work-horse at
heart. The days I feel able to get around really well, I go nuts. I try to
get as much done as possible because I know the physical freedom might dry up
for an extended period.

Hope that answers your questions. Honestly, I think the majority of my pain
is being induced by the spaticity. The Ativan is keeping it in check so my
body isn't as likely to feel stiff and full of pain. - Denise.
