Hi, All:
Some of you may recall me seeking assistance concerning translating a
PDF-translating-error-message into standard English. The background is as
follows:
I had heard about a couple of interesting articles in a recent issue of
Harvard Business Review, and went on-line to order them. Everything went
reasonably well until I tried to translate them from PDF to TXT formats.
In a word, they wouldn't translate - apparently, the publishers put some
sort of code in them so that they wouldn't convert.
So, I called the HBR folks, and first received the requested articles in
text format. I then worked out the following arrangements with them so
that others (and myself) could avail themselves/myself of this service.
Go to www.hbsp.harvard.edu; the site seems reasonably accessible. If you
find an article you want, call Elaine Brown at 800-988-0886; indicate you
are blind and that you want X article in TXT format. She will assist you
from there; please note that each article costs $5.50, and that there is a
$10 minimum (steep prices, I know).
Please let me know if you have any difficulties.
Best, Peter
