Hi Chris,
    If the controls do not compensate for the shrinkage, I
would check the house voltage to see if it was at the
standard 120 volts.  A drop in the line voltage could cause
shrinkage.  If the line voltage checks out, I would get an
estimate from your local technician before buying new.
However, current prices are pretty low.
    I just got back from my local Office Depot where I
picked up a 17-inch KDS monitor for only $211 (with tax).
Its a beauty.
