One of the attractions of coffee is its bitter taste, a taste which is
pretty much lacking in our everyday foods, the more so the closer
to SAD you eat. Most bitter herbs are good liver herbs, but coffee
contrarily is somewhat hard on the liver. If you're looking for bitter,
tea is not quite the ticket. You could try dandelion root, a splendid
liver herb and a good bitter, by itself or with burdock root or chicory.
Chicory itself is also a good liver herb and pleasant bitter drink.
