Which includes: "One theory is that the impact of the asteroid kicked up
dust clouds that blocked sunlight and plunged the planet into many years of
continuous winter that the dinosaurs were physically unable to survive."
The problem is they skip the actual explanation of why the dinosaurs
couldn't survive. But there is an answer. They raised their offspring by
laying eggs on the forest floor. During a time of nutritional distress such
eggs are very vulnerable. A small animal could easily creep around and suck
out the contents while the dinosaur wasn't watching. And with the dinosaurs
themselves having to hunt for food they weren't able to guard the eggs.
Today you don't find animals laying eggs on the forest floor.
