When asked if I want something I seriously don't want,
I usually just say something like, "No thank you", and
leave it at that. Generally, if you try to explain why
you don't want it, especially in a larger group
gathering, that's what gets the nay-sayers going. Most
RATIONAL adults will accept a simple "No, thank you"
as YOUR choice.
If pressed, I'll usually say something like, "That
doesn't agree with me", and leave it at that.
Thanksgiving has never been a problem with our
relatives, just as long as you load your plate up with
something. Nobody really seems to pay much attention
to what everyone else is eating - just as long as they
eat:)
I know one thing, I NEVER get that sleepy,
over-stuffed feeling anymore.
