For myself, I don't feel shut out - I feel intrigued. The "objective
language of empirical science" is fine, but as a student of science I find it
is NOT particularly good at communicating to a wide variety of people. If
you have ever watched the faces of a typical class of science students during
an evolution lecture you would know what I mean here -- many are not
particularly interested in or convinced by purely empirical evidence. I use
it as an alternate language reserved for speaking with those who have adopted
scientific logic as their belief system.
Even though I sometimes disagree with or have trouble understanding
Jean-Claude's logic, it always makes me think (and often makes me smile!).
