An opportunity to congraulate you on your No-Milk Website. I am chair of a
support group in New Haven and we recently started a Children's Group here. I
found i had to learn more about the difference between lactose intolerance
(which I had and lost 15 years later) and no-dairy or milk intolerance.
Evidently I am learning that most Pediatric Gastroenterologists put the
children on a non-dairy diet as well as a gf diet for the first year. I have
learned much for your site and am planning to work with our local library to
post a list of Lactose Intolerance and Non-Dairy Intolant cookbooks through
Inter-Library Loan.
A year ago I went to the library to see what gf cookbooks were available
through Inter-Library Loan and the librarian said, "Oh I have lactose
Intolerance and am hungry for information". I came home collected what I had
including a cookbook and brought them to her. She was extremely grateful. I
was astounded that with so many people with lactose and milk intolerances that
the libraries do not have any info.
Many, many celiacs do not have a computer - many are elderly with no money. I
feel this would be a tremendous advantage for them to have some good books
available
What do you think?
