Why doesn't any of this surprise me?  I know someone with CP who said that
when she asked her husband for a divorce because he was having an affair, he
had her committed for psychiatric observation for 30 days and nobody in the
hospital would  believe her.  This is different from having a substance abuse
problem and needing help, but it sounds like the same type of garbage.
